Woman suffers severe facial burns after acid attack by man outside bar
Hampshire Police said she was attacked at about 9pm yesterday outside Turtle Bay bar and restaurant in Guildhall Square.
“Police are grateful to the public for the information provided about this incident”.
Police said it was an isolated incident.
Witnesses saw a man throw the acid outside the Turtle Bay bar and restaurant in Southampton.
A woman has been treated for horrific burn injuries after she was attacked with acid during in Southampton on Friday night.
“She was taken to Southampton General Hospital with significant burns to her dace, back and arms”. A dedicated team of detectives continue to follow up all lines of enquiries.
A woman has been left with severe burns to her neck, face and arms after acid was thrown over her as she was on a night out.
‘Neither her nor her attacker were actually guests here, we were just helping out and providing first aid treatment. Firefighters were also called to the scene, where they washed around a quarter of a pint of acid from the pavement.
Police and firefighters cordoned off the area while they carried out their investigations.
An eyewitness said the male attacker, who fled towards Above Bar Street after the attack, appeared to know the woman.
“It was right by Turtle Bay”.
Emily Frankham added: ‘Girl was a victim to an acid attack outside turtle bay in Southampton and her face has melted, pray for her recovery, far too close to home’.
