Leaked Microsoft Band 2 pictures show off new design
Microsoft is rumored to be working on a successor model of the Microsoft Band fitness tracker that was released previous year .
MIcrosoftInsider.es posted what are believed to be the first official photos of the second-generation Band, which according to them is internally called “Envoy”. The newer model, dubbed the Microsoft Band 2, is expected to get unleashed on October . 6. A small price bump is also possible, but given the discounts the first-generation model received, the new one shouldn’t be much more expensive.
The images show a completely redesigned device with a curved display and metallic touches around its face, including physical buttons that will likely make the second Microsoft Band easier to navigate.
It is reported that the Microsoft Band 2 will come in a curved shape, in order to fit better on user’s wrist. The device certainly looks like a Band, but it’s pretty clear that Microsoft spent more time on improving its design, so premium materials are also expected to be used, including aluminum. While the battery of the device was placed on the side of the original version of the device, the battery is placed under the display of the Microsoft Band 2. With the Microsoft Band 2, the software giant aims to target consumers with improved functionality and design.
Like earlier, this time as well Microsoft’s wearable will continue to sync with Microsoft’s health apps for iOS, Android and Windows Phone. Assuming it is the real deal, would you be interested in such an offering from Microsoft? Apart from this, it will feature fitness tracking tools and sensors to count steps, measure distance and computing calories burnt, a heart rate monitor, and do more.
