Baby Doe Tipster Said ‘She Deserves a Name’
Both will be arraigned Monday in Dorchester District Court.
McCarthy is in custody at a Boston area hospital, where he is getting treated for a medical condition; Bond is detained at a separate location, according to the law enforcement source.
A source told FOX25 Friday that Bella was allegedly kept in a refrigerator for a month after her death.
Photos of Bella posted on her mother’s Facebook page made it clear that she looked strikingly similar to the composite image. “This child, whose very name means beauty, was murdered”.
On Sunday, Boston police spokesman Stephen McNulty said Amoroso would not be charged.
Amoroso has been in Florida for a couple of years, and returned to Massachusetts in august.
Little Bella Bond lived with a troubled mother with a drug problem and the mother’s boyfriend, who would ultimately end up killing her. Baby Bella never met her biological father, who was in another state. “The outfit isn’t supposed to be a catsuit…Love her to death”.
“It appears as though it was a situation of a boyfriend who was involved and that apparently, I think, mother and boyfriend sort of blaming each other in terms of who harmed the child”, he said.
“Now we will give her justice”.
Attorneys for Bond and McCarthy have said little on the case.
The arrests came Thursday after a search of a Boston home. It has also emerged officials from the state’s child protection agency had contact with Bella twice, for four months in 2012 and three months in 2013.
Between 2001 and 2006, the Department of Children and Families terminated parental rights for two of her mother’s older children. Within two weeks, the image of the chubby-cheeked, brown-eyed girl had reached an estimated 47 million people on Facebook. One of the children was later adopted by her maternal grandmother; the other was adopted by someone outside the family, officials told the Boston Herald.
“She said she didn’t want anybody taking her away from her, that she is trying her best to be the best parent that she can be”, Torres told the station.
Bella’s body was found June 25 inside a rubbish bag on Deer Island in Winthrop by a woman walking a dog.
Police released photos of the blanket and leggings.
‘Shame on anyone that lived in that building that didn’t start asking questions, saying, “maybe, just maybe that’s her. God forbid it’s not and I hope to God it’s not but maybe that’s her’“. But, again elaborating on the earlier statement, Grossman revealed that some closed cases were reviewed: “When we did learn about Baby Doe, the Department did look at recently closed cases and examine every open case involving a child under the age of 5 and ensured a social worker had actually visited that child”.
“Somewhere in my heart I’m going to have to find forgiveness, and that time will come” says Amoroso.
