Krispy Kreme offering free donuts on Talk Like a Pirate Day

If you show up at Krispy Kreme today and literally “talk like a pirate”, you’ll get a glazed doughnut gratis.

Krispy Kreme will again be selling its hand-decorated Kreme Filled Pirate doughnut on the “holiday”, as well fountain drinks in reusable pirate cups and Talk Like a Pirate ceramic mugs. Everything, thanks to a fun tradition at Krispy Kreme. In addition to “wearing” the virtual accessories, customers can share their selection via Facebook or Twitter. For customers who dress like a pirate, Long John Silver’s will offer a free two-piece fish tender basket. Margo Mize, senior vice president of marketing at the seafood chain said the day was the ideal opportunity for the brand to play to its pirate heritage. Doing so can earn you free food.

For even more free donuts, you must fully embrace the holiday and go Full Pirate.

For pirate fashion, a few suggestions include an eye patch (available at any drugstore) along with a pirate hat featuring a skull and crossbones flag. Add a pair of tight knickers and a waistcoat and lots of gold and silver necklaces. And just in case you need to brush up on your pirate lingo, no worries!
