Running for Terry Fox
“It lives on in the curriculum of the schools and the schools have done a wonderful job of teaching the legacy of Terry Fox to the children”, said run spokesperson Pete Ferguson.
Greg Saxby ran this year’s annual Terry Fox Run on Sunday with a picture of his wife Diana clipped to his shirt.
“Terry Fox is a true Canadian hero”, Prime Minister Stephen Harper said in a press release.
“My goal is to create awareness for young adults like myself who have a unique set of challenges that aren’t always recognized with a disease that is often associated with older adults”.
Curtis points out Terry Fox hoped to raise just $1 for every Canadian.
The charity run is in its 35th year and it started with the Marathon of Hope, which was run by Fox himself.

. This money has been used to fund research in Canada over the last 35 years.
In Ridgetown, the run attracted about 190 participants who raised a total of $7,101. “I think there’s ways we can improve a little bit”.
Sauve said the energy was palpable as people either ran for someone they know or just to help in research to find a cure for cancer. She was fighting to live, fighting each day, determined to fight the cancer.
“I’m here because this is near and dear to my heart”, said Brittany Booth as she and several friends awaited the Vernon run to begin.
“It brings us all together every year to remember him”.
McCoy said the run has a huge reach because the cause means a lot and has impacted so many families. Bruder asked the crowd in a Terry Fox Trivia challenge.
“If I had my other diagnosis back when I was 30, I don’t think I’d be here today because research has come such a long way since then”.
