Jackie Collins: Writer of Steamy Bestselling Novels (and Joan’s Sister)
Jackie Collins, the bestselling author of dozens of novels including “Hollywood Wives” that dramatized the lifestyles of the rich and the treacherous, died Saturday.
Publicist Melody Korenbrot says Collins died of breast cancer on Saturday in Los Angeles.
Collins went on tour with her latest book, “Santangelos”, earlier this year, appearing in Houston at Barbara Bush’s “A Celebration of Reading” as a featured guest. She passed away over the weekend seven years after being diagnosed with breast chance per’s dig owe sis she kept secret until right before her death, even from her older sister, Joan.
“She had so many stories to tell”, Andrea told Kate Garraway and Ranvir Singh before admitting she always wanted to bond over a bottle of wine with the showbiz legend. Her older sister, Joan Collins, acted in “Dynasty” and was a direct part of Hollywood glitterati in the 1980s.
“I did it my way, as Frank Sinatra would say”, she explained. Jackie Collins spoke about the affair saying, “We has a very brief but fabulous affair – he was at the height of his fame and glamour, the most handsome man I’d ever seen…I didn’t end up with him, but I ended up with the auto for a few days”.
Gloria told her fellow panelists that she had spoken with Jackie backstage asking her what her plans were in the United Kingdom, with the author saying she was going to visit her daughter and sister. Only her three daughters had been told about her condition.

I have never spent a raucous, gossipy evening with a star, but I have downed drinks with people who know them, and I suspect that’s the better deal. You couldn’t believe that she would be that close to death. I think I’ve helped people’s sex lives.
Throughout her career, Collins sold more than 500 million copies of her 32 novels, eight of which were adapted for television or film. “I always loved our interviews”. I gave a great deal of people great deal of pleasure. Much as Ellabell (who writes the popular food blog eatingwithmyfingers.com) is keen to stress how grateful she is to (she and John met on Twitter five years ago), she admits that it was “intolerable” for around a month of their fundraising campaign.
