Tesla Model X: Not A auto For The Masses

The SUV Model X is a most highly anticipated vehicle, with gawkers getting an eyeful of test models cruising around Silicon Valley earlier this year and posting those drives online for auto enthusiasts. The invitation does not reveal much information about the event that Tesla had not announced before. The auto will roll out from the Fremont, California factory on September 29. The invitation consists of shadowed Mode LX with falcon wings doors opened sky wards, and headlights illuminating.

Tesla Motors, Inc. designs, develops, produces and sells electric vehicles, electric vehicle powertrain components and stationary energy storage systems. Last month, Tesla Model S P85D actually broke “Consumer Reports” all previous rating records. As crossover and SUVs are preferred in the USA markets, Tesla is hoping for a high demand for its upcoming EV.

“Unfortunately, this is a very competitive class of cars and the Model S interior is far behind that of its rivals”. The launch date is September 29, which Tesla CEO Elon Musk previously announced would be the day the Model X is first handed over to its buyers.

You can still order a Model X, of course, but delivery won’t happen until 2016. The electric vehicle producer reported ($0.48) earnings per share (EPS) for the quarter, beating the Zacks’ consensus estimate of ($0.60) by $0.12. Prices for the signature series are $132,000-$143,750, but Musk said the Model X will cost $5,000 more than an equivalent Model S. Expect the cost of the Model X to start at $80,000 before incentives in that case. There is still mystery surrounding the Model X signature series and its mile range and customers are still not clear about a few things even now. However, after the delay of more than a year, the vehicle seems to be fit for a successful launch next week.

Despite achieving all this, Tesla still has failed to make impression in Germany, a country that definitely knows what luxury cars are all about.
