Man pleads guilty in Poconos crash that killed 3 Bucks Co. teens
The man who let his unlicensed teenage daughter drive his SUV has pleaded guilty. Three teen boys from Bucks County PA, were killed.
WESTCHESTER COUNTY, New York – Michael Ware, whose daughter was the driver in a fatal auto accident in Pennsylvania Labor Day weekend in 2014, pleaded guilty Thursday to three counts of involuntary manslaughter and three counts of reckless endangerment, according to the Bucks County Courier Times. Authorities reportedly say Ware allowed his daughter to take his Chevy Suburban to drive five friends to breakfast on August 30, 2014. Three students from Council Rock High School died in the wreck.
“I’m pleased that responsibility was accepted today by this defendant”, Edwards said in a brief statement.
In April, Julia Ware admitted she drove without a license and was sentenced to probation, possibly until she’s 21.
In May, a judge ordered Julia Ware to serve indefinite probation, community service and pay thousands in restitution, as well as attend counseling and write an essay on how the crime affects the victims, their families and her. “She got away with everything and hopefully he doesn’t”.
Lesher has watched all these court proceedings unfold over the past year and says he hopes people learn a lesson from all this. Ware is scheduled to be sentenced on August 20th.
