The First Generation Of ‘Harry Potter’ Readers Is Doing Something Very Magical
Harry Potter fans have found a new way to show appreciation for the beloved series – and it’s refreshingly old-fashioned.
This is done in the form of a note slipped into library and donated books for new fans to find. Their messages obviously vary, but they all share one common theme: The “Harry Potter” books had a significant influence on their lives.
Unsurprisingly, the challenge has been a huge success.
A third said: “Harry, Ron, Hermione and Hogwarts were my best friends growing up”. If it had the #PotterItForward hashtag included, you can thank the internet.
#PotterItForward arrives less than a month before the first Harry Potter Illustrated Edition hits store shelves.
It topped a Facebook poll past year as one of the most influential books in the world, beating Harper Lee’s “To Kill A Mockingbird”, J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Lord of the Rings” and even the Bible.

Started by the Harry Potter website MuggleNet.com, the phenomenon has seen hundreds of the wizard’s fans leaving emotional notes between the pages of the best-selling books for future readers to discover.
Our only piece of advice: Make sure you’re not permanently attaching the note to the book, or else someone may yell at you!
