ABC11 First Alert Weather Forecast for the Triangle, Raleigh, Durham
The front will stall for awhile before moving on, putting our area in line for some showers activity and even a few thunderstorms today and Tuesday. Tuesday will once again be locked in the 70s with mostly cloudy skies and a slight chance of scattered showers.
High pressure builds over the Northeast and suppresses rain associated with a low pressure just to our south. We’ll keep an eye on it, but we should stay dry for the most part this afternoon.
It will be warm and sunny on Wednesday, the first day of fall as temperatures flirt with 80.
Tonight will mostly cloudy and another cool night, and some sprinkles or a light shower could make its way in.
It will be a cooler day with the clouds and showers, so look for highs to only top out in the lower 70s.
The National Weather Service forecast calls for highs will be from the upper 70s to mid 80s at the beaches to the upper 80s and 90s inland.
SUNDAY: Partly cloudy skies and seasonable temperatures continue for Sunday, with a high temperature of 75 degrees.
