Today marks global Day of Peace
Peace in a global place requires all being held to the same standards and operating by the same rules.
It has grown to include millions of people worldwide and many events were organized each year to commemorate and celebrate this day. We have much to learn from this great Catholic leader who believes we can live together in peace even when we have different faiths.
“I am asking all partners to lend their voices to this call for a laying down of arms, and to work non-stop in the days to come to bring about a 24-hour cease-fire on September 21st”, Mr. Ban said in a statement issued on Thursday.

In 2001, the General Assembly by unanimous vote adopted resolution 55/282, which established 21 September as an annual day of non-violence and cease-fire. In his meeting with 7,000 children he says, What takes away peace is not loving each other, jealousy, envy, avarice, taking things away from others.. The first Peace Day was observed in September 1982.
This year, Burger King is teaming up with its fast-food competitors to hand out 1,500 “peace day burgers” at a pop-up location in Atlanta, USA Today reported.
