Baby shark falls from sky and lands in family’s backyard
“They were real excited and said, ‘We found a shark!'”.
Bowser doubted her five-year-old grandson who spotted the shark, but she soon discovered the shark for herself.
“This could be the shark house, but hopefully not too many more will be falling from the sky”, Bowser told WAVY.
Sue thinks the shark was dropped by a bird flying overhead and wasn’t part of a Sharknado.
The baby shark was dead on arrival, and so for the time being they’ve been keeping “Sharky” in a ziplock bag inside their freezer. Thankfully for Sue Bowser and her grandchildren, the shark that fell onto a concrete path behind her house was just a baby and measured little more than 13 inches. The 13-inch dogfish shark, often referred to as a sand shark, was found in the middle of their wooded backyard.
He’s become the talk of the neighborhood.
The family hasn’t said whether they’ll bury the shark or toss it unceremoniously in the garbage.
She said she planned to show it to family visiting from out of town in the coming weeks.
Sue says it was the only way to “preserve the shark because a lot of people have asked about it”.
Bowser said the Virginia aquarium wasn’t interested in taking the animal.
