‘Pizza Rat’ breaks the internet – the reaction is hilarious

The tenacious rodent was caught dragging a slice of pizza twice its size down a flight of stairs in a Big Apple subway, and has taken social media by storm. We are Pizza Rat, and this is our New York struggle.

Comedian Matt Little was able to capture pizza rat, in all its glory, at the 1st Avenue subway station.

Even rats know there’s nothing better than a slice of New York pizza.

The tiny critter impressively pulled the entire slice with him down several steps before finally taking just a little bite of it and scurrying away. Perhaps Pizza Rat was simply waiting for oncoming foot traffic to clear before going back up for the local delicacy.

It was the early hours of Monday morning in New York City – one of the last days of summer before countless months of cold and darkness.

The wily camera-operator left us all on a cliff-hanger when they cut to black before we learnt the fate of Pizza Rat and his much sought after pizza.

A copy of the video was also posted to Little’s Instagram account at approximately 2 p.m. ET that same day with the caption “Master Splinter headed off to feed #TMNT”.

The Ninja Turtles weren’t the only cultural force linked to Pizza Rat, however.
