Pennsylvania police make arrest in Davison murder
According to a release from the Franklin County District attorney’s office, on April 20 Pennsylvania State Police were contacted by Jamie Breese, who informed them of Strawser.
According to police, Strawser is already facing a murder charge in another case in West Virginia.
Law enforcement officials will hold a media briefing Monday at 2:00 p.m.
Global Positioning System data showed that Davison had maintained a steady speed from Florida, however there was a marked increase starting in Martinsburg, West Virginia, the press release stated.
Family members reported Monday morning that police identified Davison’s killer and that it was likely a case of mistaken identity.
The couple told police that they knew Strawser and that he “gets in rages”, according to the affidavit of probable cause.
Breese told police that Strawser had contacted them repeatedly on the night of the murder and that he had a volatile history with the man. He said Strawser sent him and his wife threats and the two left the establishment where they had been, Breese said they headed north on I-81 – heading in the same direction Davison would have been going. Breese told police he thought that Strawser had mistaken Davison’s Montero with their silver Honda Pilot.
“I never doubted it”, Allocca said.
“There really is a sense of relief”, Allocca said of Strawser’s arrest.
Further, he explained that Strawser’s truck was a dark Ford Ranger, and that though it was now black and green in color, it had been painted sometime after 1/4/14.
More than a year and a half into their investigation police have charged a West Virginia man for the murder of a man driving on I-81. It was there that investigators met Strawser’s neighbor.
Police later arrested Strawser at his residence in Terra Alta, W. Va., after a vehicle chase that ended with a fiery crash, which he fled on foot from.
Allocca also said it bothered her that her son’s killer also killed another person afterward and that may have been prevented had the tipsters that came forward recently would have contacted police immediately following her son’s death.
“Lab testing revealed that the casing found at the murder scene was fired from the Rossi Ranch Hand found in the field”, Fogal said, “Particles characteristic of gunshot residue were found in the driver’s side area of Strawser’s Ranger”.
“Good news! Pennsylvania State Police and the District Attorney have filed a 1st Degree Murder charge against John Wayne Strawser, Jr. from West Virginia who is now in jail for killing his ex-girlfriend in April 2015”, the statement read.
John Wayne Strawser of WV has been charged in the 2014 shooting death of Timothy Davison in Antrim Township.
The shooting took place on Interstate-81.
