Warrant for arrest of RB Dalvin Cook issued for battery – FSView
The newspaper reported Cook was under investigation for battery of a 21-year-old woman.
If it’s not one thing, it’s another for the Florida State Seminoles as sophomore running back Dalvin Cook is now being investigated for a possible battery of a woman outside of a Tallahassee bar on June 23.
Cook is the second Florida State player this month facing a potential charge for an incident in Tallahassee.
Details from law enforcement are scarce, as the police report obtained by the Democrat is heavily redacted; however, it does say that the alleged victim was intoxicated and suffered minor abrasions/bruises from the incident. The victim was able to identify the suspect to police.
Moving forward, however, Florida State will need to look into a possible backup to take over the starting role, which shouldn’t be too hard with all the talent still on the roster.
The victim reportedly plans to press charges. Cook rushed for 1,008 yards and eight touchdowns, and he added 203 receiving yards. He was a five-star recruit and the No. 18 recruit in the class of 2014 according to Rivals.
Cook is due to be charged with misdemeanor battery.
Johnson was dismissed from the team on Monday after video of the incident was published by the Tallahassee Democrat. His lawyer said he was acting in self-defense while five FSU players have been subpeonaed in the case. No charges have been filed at this time.
