Walcott Watched By Barcelona — Arsenal Transfer News
According to MailOnline’s Pete Jenson, Barcelona appealed to the RFEF about the possibility of registering summer purchase Turan outside of the transfer window due to the special circumstances of having lost Rafinha to a long-term injury. The Spanish FA (RFEF) has reportedly approached Federation Internationale de Football Association on the Catalan giants’ behalf to pursue the possibility of circumventing the club’s registration ban after Rafinha’s horror injury.
Under the ban, the players would not be allowed to register to play until the January 2016 transfer window, when FIFA’s ban is widely reported to be coming to an end.
What is known is that Barca man Rafinha’s season was ended last week as he suffered a torn cruciate ligament against Roma in the Champions League and in all likelihood, Barcelona will indeed be seeking cover in January.
“Barça can register a substitute for Rafinha”.
“The ban was for two transfer windows, this past winter and this summer and those are both over”.
He is seen as a player who could compete with Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar for a starting place in Barca’s forward three.
However, Marca reports that the Nou Camp club feel that they have already carried out the requirements of the sanction and that they now might be able to inscribe and field Turan.
Arda Turan, left, joined Barcelona from Atletico Madrid in July for 34 million euros.
