Pebble could launch its first round smartwatch this week
Possibly. Ubergizmo has claimed, citing an anonymous source, that Pebble is working on a new watch that’ll come in two different sizes.
However, Pebble has not announced anything officially and all reports about the new smartwatch are simply based on rumors.
The device is tipped to ship with a metal finish, although the report claims it hasn’t had access to any photographs. Pebble has an announcement to make, but it’s not yelling it from the rooftops just yet. Pebble’s previous watches have been crowdfunded via Kickstarter. The company originally discussed bringing timeline to its older devices back in late February when the Pebble Time was first announced. Web developers know how easy it is to view the source code behind pages, so if Pebble really wanted the announcement to be a secret, they surely wouldn’t have left the teaser there in plain sight. It was speculated that the countdown might be counting down to the release of the 3.0 firmware for the original Pebble, which had been released for the Pebble Time.
The countdown on the Pebble website will be reaching zero on Wednesday and it prompted several industry pundits to assume that a new smartwatch will be announced by Eric Migicovsky, the CEO of Pebble.
