2-year-old dies after he’s found with cord around neck
A two-year-old Colorado boy, who was reportedly missing just before noon Monday, was found alive, reports CBS Denver.
“They think he did have something wrapped around his neck”, Lakewood Police Department spokesperson Steve Davis said.
Roman Paulisaiah Morales is being held without bond in the Jefferson County Detention Facility for one count of first degree murder, according to jail records.
Police talked to Morales yesterday and last night said his story didn’t match up, said Davis.
They say Morales had been in the apartment before police arrived and officers were able to find him soon afterward.
The boy was found in a lidded container in an apartment Monday. He was rushed to a hospital, where shortly before 2 p.m. he was pronounced dead.
“Also in the apartment police contacted the mother of the child and two or three additional adults”, Davis said. The child’s mother is not expected to be arrested.
Davis says police are investigating but don’t know whether the incident was an accident or a crime.
