One Direction announce new album Made In The AM
It is their first full-length album release as a four-piece since Zayn Malik dramatically left the band.
The title and release date of the new album, which is available to pre-order now, was unveiled via a video message featuring the band.
In a video posted to the band’s Twitter account, Harry Styles stands with Niall Horan, Liam Payne, and Louis Tomlinson, and says, “Our new album, Made In The A.M“.
The song, a rousing slice of guitar pop, is written by John Ryan, Jamie Scott and Julian Bunetta, the team behind One Direction smash Story Of My Life. Made in the A.M. will street on November 13, the same day as Bieber’s as-yet-untitled LP.
The album is already available to pre-order and eager fans who chose to do so will be rewarded with an instant gratitude song called Infinity. Though initial reports indicated that the break would begin as soon as March 2016 – good news, Directioners! – this album could mean we’ll get one more tour out of the boys before they step away from the limelight (temporarily, we hope).
They also headline tonight’s Apple Music Festival at the Roundhouse in London, with fellow X Factor stars Little Mix as the support act. Or are they still trying for innuendo here, something akin to 2012’s Take Me Home or their debut Up All Night?
The album will be their last before going on hiatus next year.
