Sony Xperia Z5 Premium phone boasts a 4K display
Impressive as those specs may be, this however wasn’t the silver lining as Sony also went ahead to introduce their new 23MP Exmor RS sensor camera that all three of the aforementioned device would share. This model has a 5.5 inch screen with a resolution 4 times better than on the standard Z5 phone.
If you believe that 2K displays on smartphones is stretching it then you’re going to love what Sony just came up with, the company announced a new lineup of Xperia handsets today and the flagship models brings something very unique to the table. All the Xperia Z5 smartphones support Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 technology, which allows for fast charging speeds. It will also upgrade any high definition video to 4K resolution for you. Despite those tweaks, the Xperia Z5 Compact looks like a solid option for folks that are still jonesing for a shrunken flagship Android phone. Sony claims it offers a fast autofocus (the swiftest available in a phone) and excellent lowlight performance, the latter being a key bugbear when it comes to smartphone photography.
Except for a difference in their display, RAM and battery size, all the three Xperia Z5 smartphones have similar specifications.
EE has also said it plans to stock the Xperia Z5 Premium when it launches later in the year. Sony knew that a fingerprint scanner was necessary for their upcoming Xperia Z5 devices and they had to “sacrifice” the power button by redesigning it.
All the three new Xperia Z5 handsets will be equipped with 23-megapixels cameras, and a unique sensor.
The Z5 Compact will cost around €450 SIM free, with the Z5 costing €540 and the Z5 Premium around €600. In addition to the 4K display, the smartphone also has the capability to upscale content to 4K, port the memory card from the company’s 4K Action Cam FDR-X1000V to the phone, and wirelessly transmit content to a 4K television using DLNA or MHL 3.0 technology.
Pricing wasn’t revealed, but Sony says that the Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact will launch in October, while the Xperia Z5 will begin rolling out in November. All three devices are resistant to dust and water though.
