11-year-old reads heartbreaking YouTube comments about himself
“He looks like such a stupid fatso”, Logan recites at the start of the roughly two-minute segment, in which he explains that he’s never read any of these remarks before. ‘And people that have been bullied – don’t let these words effect you.’.
“Logan asked me to do this”, Logan’s dad wrote about the video.
Some particularly vicious people wished ill upon him, writing: ‘I hope that he dies, ‘ and ‘I hope he gets cancer.’.
“I wanted to show that I could be strong against whatever people said against me and to inspire others who deal with the same thing”, Logan told ABC News.
“I knew the depths of how disgusting people could get online, especially behind a screen where no one would know who they were”, Josh Fairbanks said.
His dad says his motivation to make the video is “to encourage other people to not bully” and to help people who have been bullied “to not let words hurt them”.
Now Logan’s dad is looking for a special way to celebrate his courageous son’s birthday, which is in a few weeks. “And his willingness to turn something negative into something positive may very well help him combat the negative effects such hurtful comments could have on him”. But many reactions are supportive and commend the young boy for his courage.
But his most viewed video, by far, was one he shared in May, in which he sneaks up on Logan while he dances to Flo Rida’s son Goin’ Down while taking a shower.
A powerful video uploaded by YouTuber Josh Fairbanks, features the man’s 11-year-old son, Logan, opening up about the cyberbullying he’s experienced. “I feel like the video is doing a lot of good”.
