‘Arrow’ casts Neal McDonough as Damien Darhk
According to TVLine, Neal McDonough (mostly recently of “Justified” and “Suits” fame) is going to be playing Damien, who is thought to be the Big Bad for the upcoming fourth season.
Darhk was referenced a few times last season, with him visiting Starling City in the finale (though he was not seen on screen).
The producers-Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Andrew Kreisberg, and Sarah Schechter- describe Darhk as “a mysterious and sophisticated villain, and an adversary of the late Ra’s al Ghul“. Now the leader of his own clandestine group, aka H.I.V.E., Darhk will prove a challenging foil for Arrow. Know that since this is a series-regular role, odds are that you will be seeing him very early on in the season, and that will most likely play through until the end. In the DC comic books he has strong ties to the supervillain organization HIVE.
McDonough will be familiar to Marvel fans for his portrayal of hot-headed soldier Dum Dum Dugan on film and in the Marvel shows Agents of SHIELD and Agent Carter. He also had a small but memorable role in The Minority Report, working in the Precrime division next to Tom Cruise’s John Anderton. Other tense situations included the death and resurrection of Queen’s sister Thea.
Arrow season 4 has secured its villain.
