Death of Kashmir’s ‘Aylan’ Paralyses Valley
Bashir was killed and Burhan, hit in the abdomen, was brought to Srinagar but died early this morning after surgery, police said.
Last night, unidentified gunmen shot at and injured former militant Bhat near his residence at Sagipora in Sopore area of Baramulla district.
Police stated the three youth and the Hizbul commander have been killed in internecine rivalry between the Hizbul and its breakaway faction, the Lashkar-e-Islam.
“The grenade didn’t explode after which the militants opened fire on him (Bashir) and his three-year-old kid who was in his arms at the time of the attack”. Father, Bashir Ahmad died on the spot while his son, Burhan was referred to Soura Institute of Medical Sciences where he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday.
Meanwhile, villagers on Saturday discovered the bullet-riddled body of a militant in an orchard in Indian Kashmir’s Tangmarg area. CM mourns death Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed deeply mourned the killing of Burhan on Friday evening. The police identified the bodies as those of Ashiq Hussain Wani of Pattan and Muhammad Amir Reshi and Naveed Ahmad Khan from Sopore.
Police suspect that the act has been carried out by LeI – an outfit floated by Abdul Qayoom Najar, the longest surviving militant in north Kashmir.
The Hizbul has blamed the safety forces for all these killings. Since these separatists did not blame militants for violating human rights, terrorists were encouraged in taking lives of innocent people.
No one has claimed responsibility of the killings. He has also asked people to hold a complete shutdown strike on Sunday in protest against the fatal attack.
Geelani has demanded an impartial investigation into these killings.
