Brad Pitt, Ryan Gosling Make Millions Off Financial Crisis in ‘The Big
Watch the first trailer for The Big Short below and beware, herein lie some bad hair pieces. It stars Ryan Gosling (3), Brad Pitt (4), Steve Carell (5), and Christian Bale (6). “THE BIG SHORT is the ideal exclamation point to our presentation of the year’s best films for its equally humorous, humbling and heart-pounding take on today’s America”.
Paramount Pictures announced on Tuesday that The Big Short would be moved up from its original 2016 release date to this December. It’s McKay’s first dramatic work, with most of his career spent directing hit comedies like Anchorman and and Step Brothers, so we’re interested to see the transition. Based on a true story, “The Big Short” follows four financial outsiders who spotted what big banks and the government refused to acknowledge: the impending and devastating financial crisis that would shake the foundations of the global economy.
The Big Short will be released in theaters some time in December.
The movie is based on a book of the same name by Michael Lewis, the man who wrote Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game and The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game, both of which were also turned into films.
He’s also the author of “Flash Boys“, which looks at stockbrokers rigging the market with high-frequency trading, and is being made into a film as well, according to IMDb. “Their bold investment led them into the dark underbelly of modern banking where they must question everyone and everything”.
