Rose McGowan gets naked and bloody in debut music video ‘RM486’ [NSFW]
Directed by Swedish giant Jonas Åkerlund (whose credits also include Madonna’s “Ray of Light” and Lady Gaga’s “Telephone”), the clip shows McGowan reclaiming her famous body by getting naked but not “sexy” in any traditional sense of the word.
But, from making her directoral debut with Dawn previous year , to maintaining her campaign for gender equality in Hollywood, to that time she went to the VMAs with Marilyn Manson with about five necklaces covering her butt – even off-screen Rose McGowan is a rare example of someone who just does whatever the f*** they want, however the f*** they want. Ahead of its commerical release this Friday (September 25) you can catch McGowan unveiling the many sides to her musical persona in a new music video. The spikes of “Needles” represent McGowan’s “armor and shield”, but she’s also prone to attack as “Red Glitter Bomb”. I’m pushing back at the idea of what I am supposed to be. The video was made in collaboration with the art collective Who You Are, which has a behind-the-scenes featurette on its site. The track is available to purchase via iTunes. McGowan has expressed an interest in pursuing a full-fledged music career in recent years, especially as her disillusionment with the film industry has grown.
Launching the video on Nowness.com, the actress has confessed she has always hated acting, and may never return to life in front of the camera if her music career kicks off.
