Florida governor comes hunting jobs in Kentucky
Gov. Rick Scott has a full day of events planned today in Kentucky, the latest Democratic-led state the Republican governor has targeted for business recruitment.
In a video press release, 1 Choice Aerospace’s owner, Chris Yeazel, said, “I wanted to thank Governor Scott, his team, and Enterprise Florida for creating a business climate that’s friendly and makes it easier to do business”.
Gov. Beshear is meeting with a delegation of Taiwanese officials on a substantial deal for Kentucky farmers, as well as announcing an oral health initiative for thousands of Kentucky children, Sebastian said. The money is intended to fund proposals to expand mental health care services across the state, which Scott laid out in an executive order in June that said “state funding for mental healthcare is too fragmented”.
For Scott, this is his fourth domestic economic development mission this year.
“We have to get better at supporting individuals and families affected by mental illness and substance abuse in their communities, instead of in the custody or supervision of the state”, Scott said in a statement.
The Philadelphia excursion focused on the continued expansion of Wawa convenience stores in Florida, while attracting more maritime cargo highlighted the stop in Los Angeles. “That means 40 families in Florida are gonna have a great job because Florida is a great place to do business”.
Gov. Scott begins two days of corporate recruiting in Kentucky.
Scott says Florida offers lower taxes, less regulation, and is a right-to-work state.
The Lexington Herald-Leader reported that he went to Lexington to announce that a Kentucky aerospace company was expanding into Florida – and the paper accused Scott of a political stunt.
