Longwood couple purchases Minion toy from McDonald’s that seems to be
WFTV bought a different Minion toy from McDonald’s, but it didn’t use the same phrase.
Local man and grandfather, Bradley Merted, purchased the Happy Meal from a Longwood McDonald’s and is convinced the child’s toy is dropping the mother of all swear words. “It clearly says what it says”.
“I heard what it said and I’m like, ‘whoa, hang on here, ‘” another parent told MyFox28 in Columbus, Ohio.
A couple of grandparents from Seminole County Fla., believe that their McDonald’s (MCD) toy is cursing.
McDonald’s said in a statement “Minions speak “Minionese” which is a random combination of many languages and nonsense words and sounds”. Any sounds that are similar to English words are just a coincidence.
We asked people on the street what they thought the toy was saying.
“The very end, when it goes eh, eh, eh, that’s it and it’s only because I think that you, now that you’ve said it that I can make it sound like it but not beforehand”, Natalie Ezell said.
Hernandez said she heard, “What the F-“, (expletive) followed by “All be damned”. “That’s all I heard, which seems completely innocent”.
“It’s a minion”, said Nick Murnan.
Still, those fathers want McDonald’s to stop giving the toy to kids. “It’s coming from a toy”.
“””(They should) check their toys before they hand them over”, Merten said. “They’re going to assume it’s OK to say that”.
