World’s Oldest Male Panda Celebrates His Thirtieth Birthday
World’s oldest male panda is celebrating his birthday today in Chengdu, south west China.
Pan Pan, the world’s oldest male panda, recently celebrated his 30th birthday in Chengdu, which is located in the southwestern part of China with an ice cake with carrots given to him by the staff at the China Giant Panda Protection and Research Centre.
The humans sang happy birthday as Pan Pan slowly emerged from his quarters and received a very warm cheer.
Pan Pan isn’t the oldest panda. He was turned over to the center and raised there. He has fathered 130 cubs over the past 30 years, People reported.
“A heroic father in the panda world, Pan Pan has contributed a lot to enlarging the captive population”, Wei said.
Explaining the panda’s good health, the center says it has found ways to engage pandas in physical activities, using toys or hiding food in trees.
Pan Pan will spend his remaining years in comfort in the center. Wei said that they will do their best to keep the panda healthy and alive for as long as they can. We don’t ignore aging or ailing giant pandas.
Earlier this year, Jia Jia, the world’s oldest female giant panda, celebrated her 37th birthday at the Ocean Park theme park in Hong Kong. According to China’s latest giant panda census in 2014, there were 1,864 giant pandas in the wild, an increase of 17 percent over the past decade.
