Florida’s Jalen Tabor, Treon Harris suspended for Tennessee game, according to
Florida will be relying heavily on quarterback Will Grier on Saturday vs. Tennessee.
The Florida Gators have reportedly suspended quarterback Treon Harris and cornerback Jalen Tabor for Saturday’s game against Tennessee.
Harris was cited last December with operating a motor vehicle without license, a second-degree misdemeanor, while Tabor and former cornerback J.C. Jackson were in the auto . While they both were practicing Wednesday per InsidetheGators.com, GridironNow.com reported that the suspensions were for a violation of university policy. Grier played the entire game against Kentucky.
In two games, Harris has completed 19 of his 27 passes for 269 yards and two touchdowns.
In addition, a source indicated to Alligator Army that Tabor and Harris would be suspended for Saturday’s game.
Tabor returned an interception for a 39-yard touchdown to hep the Gators beat East Carolina 31-24 two weeks ago.
The loss of Tabor would significantly hurt the depth of the Gators’ secondary, which is already thin. Without Harris, Florida’s lone scholarship quarterback behind Grier is graduate transfer Josh Grady, who has as many catches as pass attempts (one of each) in 2015.
