‘Tonight Show’ parodies ‘Empire’ with Jimmy Fallon’s ‘Jimpire’
Jimmy Fallon parodied the hit show “Empire” with his own version called “Jimpire“.
Dressed as Terrence Howard’s character Lucious Lyon, Juicy Jim is looking for a replacement to take over the Tonight Show following his recent finger injury. Between the controversy and the show’s star-studded cast, the show is set to do big numbers with tonight’s premiere.
Empire Season 2 finally kicks off tonight on FOX, but fans of the series we’re given a special treat if they watched The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night. After a verbal battle with the real Cookie (Taraji), he ends up getting knocked out. “I could stub my toe”. But naturally, there’s another fur-wearing, insult-slinging figure who wants to get their hands on the Jimpire – Higgy (Steve Higgins) – who believes he’s entitled to half of Juicy’s kingdom. “I could burn the roof of my mouth eating a hot microwave pizza”.
Unfortunately, he must choose from Questlove, the drummer of the late-night show’s band The Roots, Tariq Trotter, who is also a member of The Roots, and Andre, Fallon’s “business savvy-yet-moody show producer”.
Howard makes a cameo to ask his impersonator not to parody “Empire”, and Henson shows up to beat the living daylights out of Higgins.
“Now, I know you ain’t forgetting about me up in here”, Higgie exclaimed to the group.
