Body of Hizb militant found in paddy fields
A bullet-riddled body of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) commander, allegedly killed by breakaway group militants of Lashker-e-Islami (LeI), was recovered from a paddy field in north Kashmir district of Baramulla on Saturday morning.
After the recovery of the body of the terrorists, the police took it in its custody and sent it for post-mortem.
Hizb Operational Spokesperson told Srinagar based news agency CNS on phone, “Fayaz along with his associates was on a “mission” when the Indian Army personnel fired upon them”. The protesters clashed with police and attacked the deployment with stones, prompting police to burst tear gas shells.
According to a senior police official, the bullet-riddled body of Fayaz Ahmad Bhat, resident of Vailoo (Pattan), was recovered on Saturday in Devbugh village near Tangmarg town. The deceased militant has six children, and the eldest one Irshad Ahmad Bhat, was reportedly tortured for a week in a nearby army camp just some days ago.
Police party was immediately rushed and the body was taken away for identification, they said.
Earlier, three bullet-riddled bodies of militants, believed to be belonging to LeI, were found in Dangerpora in Pattan area.
Fayaz Bhat’s mysterious killing according to police sources seems to be the result of rivalry between Hizb and Lashkar-e-Islam.
