Fallout 4’s Original Soundtrack Should Be Fantastic
The release of Fallout 4 is getting ever closer, and to give us a little tease of what to expect, Bethesda have once again given an update from behind the scenes.
Inon Zur, who has worked on over 50 different video games (including Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, Dragon Age: Inquisition and Prince of Persia), is the composer of Fallout 4’s score, as well as its main theme.
Inon Zur has an awesome name.
Of course, the game’s soundtrack won’t just consist of Zur hitting objects that are scattered around his home – he’s seeking to blend unorthodox methods with traditional instrumentation to create a score that ties in with Fallout’s scenery and tone. In this case that duality manifests in “the despair of war – but also the hope for the future”.
We also understand that alongside the main theme will be two additional tracks released for Fallout 4.
What’s especially vital to this experience – on top of the gameplay and how the game itself looks – is how Fallout 4 actually sounds. So following that lead on, there are multiple times that I use this. So I created a combination between a real piano and an electric piano sound. “Something that sounds like the beginning”.
The Fallout series has long been praised for its unique atmosphere, and the development team at Bethesda is aiming to make sure that gamers are drawn into the world of the next installment, which uses music as one of the main ways of delivering emotion.
Fallout 4 will be launched on the PC, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 on November 10 of this year. Let us know your thoughts below.
