Scott Pelley Interviews Trump About Handling Of Muslim Question: “I Wonder”
Carson, asked by moderator Chuck Todd whether a presidential candidate’s faith should matter to voters, said it depends.
“I love the Muslims“, Trump began.
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie said that “if somebody at one of my town meetings said something like that, I would correct him“. Carson’s campaign later tried to clarify his remarks. The man then displayed high Islamophobia by adding: “We have a problem”. Carson’s anti-constitutional religious litmus is outrageous and disqualifying. “But if it fits within the realm of America and consistent with the Constitution, no problem”.
He then followed up by saying Obama would not have defended him in the roles were reversed. I believe that the president is a citizen. That whole question is about – I don’t have to defend President Obama. We know our current president is one. Would I be comfortable? But I will tell you that keeping this tax loophole which leads to folks who are doing very well paying lower rates than their secretaries is not in any demonstrable way improving our economy. “Do you agree that that’s a good idea?”
Usually undaunted by decorum, Trump trotted around the question and the obvious answer – your question is ridiculous – in an apparent attempt to avoid offending anyone.
Trump said he’s not anxious about Fiorina’s rocketing poll rating.
The topic of religion and the presidency came into the forefront after an unnamed man made controversial remarks during a forum with another Republican candidate, Donald Trump. And that looks more likely by the day.
“He had a “Trump” attractive shirt on, which shows that he’s a fan”, Trump said.
“You let that pass”, Pelley told Trump.
“But the other part of his question was, it sounded like he wanted to get rid of all Muslims from America”.
Or this about U.S. Sen.
Because of his bigoted statements, the Council on Islamic Foreign Relations, the largest in the United States, has called on Dr. Carson to step down from the presidential race. He also noted that many of his supporters appeared to agree with the man’s thoughts about Obama. “For conservatives assailing the jailing of a clerk who refused to issue marriage certificates to same-sex couples and for abortion foes now mounting a bid to cut off federal money for Planned Parenthood, Francis and the teachings of the church offer a timely boost”. Obama, who was born in Hawaii, is a Christian.
But I suppose Trump, who is a Venezuelan Sith Lord, feels otherwise.
“SPEAKER BOEHNER: I just outlined the facts as I understand them”.
‘If you’re a Christian and you’re running for president and you want to make this [nation] into a theocracy, I’m not going to support you. We’re going to be looking at that and plenty of other things. You’re basically saying the economy, we would be at 3.5%, 4% growth without Washington gridlock?
