Naughty Dog has been brainstorming for The Last of Us 2
I can’t deny that a sequel to the survival title The Last of Us would be most welcomet, but Druckmann has revealed that the project is now at a standstill.
Druckmann went on to mention that North was not entirely wrong in saying that The Last of Us 2 was in development, but the studio now has no intention of revisiting the game until a few months after Uncharted 4 is finished, if they do at all.
“All the facial animation in the Uncharted series was led up by Eric, here”, Scherr said during the live, “and [on] the first The Last of Us“. Then, just last week during a livestream, Naughty Dog themselves seemed to slip up and call TLOU “the first The Last of Us“.
Conflicting reports on the forthcoming release for “The Last of Us 2” has fans anticipating the game even more.
Naughty Dog has recently commented on the themes and messages that will be featured within the story of the upcoming game Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.
In the latest issue of Official PlayStation Magazine (via GamesRadar), Creative Director Neil Druckmann spoke briefly about the follow-up, which has largely been kept under wraps ever since the studio pumped out the original, heart-wrenching tale of Joel and Ellie.
Troy Baker, who keeps on insisting that he has zero knowledge of the sequel however, has hinted the possibility of having another protagonist in “The Last of Us 2” come its release date.
Druckman added that he did not anticipate that North will actually announce “The Last of Us 2” prematurely, but laughs it off in the end. A small group within Naughty Dog was brainstorming what the developer’s next game after Uncharted 4 would be, though those ideas weren’t limited to The Last of Us 2.
Whatever Naughty Dog decides, it will be several years before we see the fruit of their labor.
