Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger named AFC Offensive Player of the Week
Roethlisberger’s performance, which saw him complete 21-of-27 passes for 369 yards and three touchdowns was good enough to see the Steelers signal caller be named the AFC’s Offensive Player of the Week.
If there is a point-after-try revolution on the way, the Pittsburgh Steelers are at the forefront.
With the NFL moving the extra point attempt after a touchdown back to the 15-yard line, the NFL’s overall success rate on the PAT has plummeted, with nine missed extra points already in 2015 after the entire league missed just eight in 2014.
“Oh, we’re going to keep doing it”, Roethlisberger said. “We don’t practice it this much to not do it. We practice it every single day….” Through two weeks they’re a flawless 3 for 3 on two-point conversions, and, according to quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, don’t plan on altering their strategy anytime soon.
The Steelers visit the St. Louis Rams at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
“Obviously they’ve got 2-point plays that are working”, Fisher said.
Regardless of how often the Steelers offense goes for two moving forward, at least we know the level of preparedness that they have should they run into a game situation in which they really need those two points. “Obviously we are going to have to spend a lot of time on it. That’s Mike [Tomlin’s] choice”.
Ben Roethlisberger says the team will continue to go for two points.
