Caitlyn Jenner won’t be prosecuted for manslaughter over fatal automotive crash
Flynet It’s the same conclusion as the L.A. County Sheriff’s Dept. which additionally investigated the case.
Last month, it was reported that although there was evidence to prove that Jenner pumped her breaks several seconds before the collision, the L.A. County D.A. still had the option to file manslaughter charges against Jenner for violating the speed law by not slowing down quickly enough.
However, it’s thought that such a ruling would be highly unlikely.
In the accident, Jenner’s Cadillac Escalade rear-ended Kimberly Howe’s vehicle, pushing it into oncoming traffic, where it was struck head-on by a Hummer. The 65-year-old was involved in a fatal multi-car accident in February that left one woman dead and seven injured.
Jenner has argued that her speed was not illegal and expressed concern over prisons and how they treat transgender people when she appeared on “Today” recently.
However, the star did admit her fears over possibly being sent to Los Angeles Men’s County Jail should she be charged with the crime.
She said: “I remember it very little, I remember it happening and that’s about it”. Jenner said, laughing. “That is the worst case scenario”.
“Something like this, a tragedy like this, you’ll never get over it”, Jenner said. That’s about it. The media wants [my mug shot picture], don’t they? If it were you and I who caused a fatal crash by allegedly being distracted by our phone, we’d be marched right off to court and would expect jail time if not a hefty fine and our licence revoked.
Not revealing which one she was referring to, she blasted: “When I see him, honestly, I’m going to get in his face”.
Tragic end… the driver of the Lexus, 69-year-old Kim Howe, died in the crash.
