Madonna receives letter from ex Sean Penn after concert
Madonna said that after Penn witnessed her perform, he wrote her a note and said he “appreciates” her art.
However, the famously toxic relationship was also fraught with Sean’s criticism, mood swings, and violence and they divorced in 1989 after four years of marriage.
She told the gathering of people at her Rebel Heart show at Madison Square Garden that the performing artist had penned her a heart-felt letter in the wake of going to her other NYC gig on September 17. “Thirty f**king years later”.
Sitting astride a stool, clutching a ukulele, she mused over the 54-year-old actor coming to see her show at Madison Square Gardens on Thursday night.

The model had never faced the songwriter before, but the latter was being sweet to her according to an insider of US Weekly.
“I’m very friendly with my first ex-wife”, Penn said in an interview for Esquire U.K.’s March issue. They have both since gone on to have high-profile relationships.
Penn and Madonna first met on a movie lot in 1985. They have two sons, Dylan, 24, and Hopper, 22. He introduced his daughter, Dylan Penn – his child with Robin Wright, to the queen of pop as she wanted to meet her. The singer opened up to her audience about Penn, how he attended her show a couple days earlier at Madison Square Garden and the note he sent her afterwards.
In related news, Penn is suing Empire series creator Lee Daniels for $10 million, claiming the award-winning producer slandered him by accusing him of hitting women, just to make Terrence Howard look better, as a previous Inquisitr article reports.
