Grand Theft Auto 5’s playable Bigfoot Easter egg discovered

The game’s newest update, which was released last week, features a mysterious new achievement called “Cryptozoologist”, which taunts players by asking them if they’re sure they’ve found every animal in the game’s universe.

But, thanks to one kind-hearted Redditer, finding Bigfoot – or rather, transforming into him – just became a little easier. In a thoroughly intense Reddit thread, rkRusty has discovered a gold peyote plant that if you eat it, transforms you into Bigfoot himself.

Eating this peyote plant resulted in the character morphing into a drug-crazed Sasquatch, allowing the player to tear around GTA causing simian-style mayhem. You’ll have to complete the game first, find every other peyote location, and complete the mission The Last One without killing the Sasquatch.

Better yet, A Sasquatch who can wield a shotgun and drive a bicycle. After that, feel free to terrorise away – and make the most of it, you only get one go as Bigfoot before vomiting it all up like a bad dream.

And in a satisfying vindication of the dataminers, the new GTA Easter egg is associated with the audio files that they found: PEYOTE_ATTRACT_SASQUATCH.

Head to the coordinate -1472.531, 4439.456, 18.862 and you’ll find the Bigfoot peyote plant.

The thing is, even when all animals are found at the achievement is unlocked, the counter reads 21/22, and offers the cryptic message “You unlocked all animals for use in Director Mode… or did you?” Either way, nicky041192 has helpfully posted a cheat code that will enable players to change the weather in GTA at will.
