BioShock Mobile Version Has Been Permanently Removed From App Store
KitGuru Says: This is certainly a shame for anyone that did buy Bioshock on iOS out of curiosity.
While the company did make the announcement that they were going to fix this, it appears that this will no longer be the case.
2K recently provided inaccurate information to customers surrounding removal of BioShock for iOS from the App Store. “Unfortunately, you are correct we don’t now have this game for mobile gaming any more, which I know can be frustrating”.
You can take a look at the complete email from 2K support here, but the representative said that the game’s removal was a “developer decision” and that they should request a refund for the game directly from Apple. “This happens occasionally, but thankfully not often”.
Right now, it’s impossible to download Bioshock onto an iOS device – even if you’ve bought it previously.
A year after BioShock was released on iOS, 2K Games has removed the shooter from the App Store. However you will be able to complete a refund with Apple. “Again, I’m awful sorry for this experience, but I hope that Apple can clear this up for you as soon as possible”.
The iOS version of Bioshock was not well received by critics or fans, but considering the $19 price tag those who purchased it are likely to be annoyed that the game was delisted instead of being updated. Customers who already own BioShock may continue playing the game with iOS version 8.3 or earlier. 2K is fixing the compatibility issue, and when resolved, will place BioShock back on the App Store for purchase.
If you seek out a refund, let us know how it goes in the comment section below.
