Man Asks Greater Manchester Police To Deport Him Back Home
The incident was revealed in a series of tweets from Greater Manchester Police’s city centre account.
“I try to ignore people but I’m fed up now”.
The man turned up at the town hall police counter in the city centre last night requesting to be taken back to Iran after a decade in the city. People are not friendly here in Manchester.
But what is more unusual is that the man – later identified as 25-year-old Arash Aria – isn’t an illegal immigrant.
“Very angry young man, odd incident”.
‘I don’t get the respect I should here’. However, when they looked up his status, it was found that he is in the country legally.
He applied: “I be likeable and polite”.
Mr Aria told the Daily Telegraph he has also been left frustrated and disappointed by his failure to find work.
He told news reporters that once he got his passport, he plans to go back to Shiraz, which is in southwest Iran, and live with relatives.
After checks with the immigration team, police revealed that Mr Aria had indefinite leave to stay in the country. He lives in a tower apartment in Manchester and has worked as a waiter, but is now living on benefits from the government.
“It’s affecting my head, my dreams and the way I think”, he said. “I am in full health, I want to work”.
Ryan Pitcher added: “I can see it now, some Iranian dude coming in, swinging his arms with a Manc-walk insisting he wants to “slide away”.
