Justin Timberlake pitches Late Night theme songs to Seth Meyers
After the interview, Kasich tweeted his donation page to Meyers, letting him know he can chip in easily. “I don’t like it as much, but it’s still really good”. “Get ready, everybody”, he said.
Kasich hit his familiar campaign stump talking points of caring for “people in the shadows”, pointing to those with drug addictions and mental illnesses as a reason for expanding Medicaid in Ohio, something he has been criticized for doing by more conservative candidates.
For real, this is obviously a joke sketch for Justin Timberlake, but you KNOW this is a weekly struggle for Joey Fatone. Timberlake admitted that was the case, but assured Meyers that his second song, “I wrote just for you“.
“I want you to stay on that debate (stage) as long as possible”. Then, referencing Kasich’s Pennsylvania roots: “You’re a Steelers fan who lives in Ohio”.
“There’s like seven more debates to go”.
Pressed on his low poll numbers, and if his calmer demeanor is hurting his chances, Kasich demurred.
“National polls don’t matter right now”.
We soon discover in the laugh-out-loud clip that Seth isn’t Justin’s favourite talk show host at all, but the last in a string of rejections. Seth takes his departure from SNL to his new post at “Late Night” as Jimmy Fallon moves to “The Tonight Show“.
