Ruby Rose Asks Fans to Boycott Magazine Over “Unapproved” Photos
For an actress who needs visibility that’s a good sign, but Ruby Rose, who’s androgyny has earned her comparisons to the likes of Angelina Jolie and Justin Bieber, is boycotting one photo.
“I am pro “free the nipple” so when I was tagged in this photo by fans I wasn’t sure where it came from but I assumed a BTS from a friends shoot or one where we had approved slightly transparency in an image”.
But before you think of purchasing the publication, you may want to hear what Rose has to say about the photos.
The interview made no sense 8 months on. But her breasts were covered with a “delete photo?” prompt, signifying her appeal to her followers to boycott the latest issue of The Untitled magazine.
Rose called the magazine’s action as a “greedy, exploitative” decision to run her naked photos against her wishes. “I have plenty of other shoots I’m proud of with professionals coming up its not needed in your collection”.
Untitled said it was unaware of any issues surrounding the picture before going to print and received a number of emails from Rose’s team praising the shoot after it had concluded.
Untitled released their girl power edition on September 16 during New York Fashion Week and on the magazine’s website, Rose’s name is listed under “additional exclusive interviews” that appear in the edition.
She also reacted angrily when Untitled promoted its interview on Twitter after she had expressed her anger, accusing its editors of trying to generate publicity off the back of her response.
“After she (Rose) has done full frontal nudity on her show, these images are tame compared to what she has done on television”.
The Australian model was clearly unsatisfied by how the magazine handled this issue.
We believe in promoting positive images of women and female empowerment. She then took to Instagram to comment on the magazine’s statement. “We did not publish the photo in question online and are very upset to hear of Ruby’s concerns now over this particular image”.
