Ali Landry’s brother-in-law, father-in-law kidnapped, killed, Latin Times reports
Juan Manuel Gómez Fernández and Juan Manuel Gómez Monteverde-the brother and father of film director Alejandro Monteverde-were both allegedly kidnapped earlier this month after leaving their home in Tamico, Mexico, Latin Times reports.
The family had paid a ransom to the kidnappers, however, the kidnappers didn’t follow through with their promise to release them, according to Televisa news anchor Carlos Loret de Mola.
Landry is married to filmmaker Alejandro Gómez Monteverde, whose father and brother’s bodies were positively identified on Saturday. My deepest condolences to my soul-brother.
Neither Landry, 42, nor Monteverde, 38, have spoken out about the devastating incident, though Eduardo Verastegui, the producer who worked closely with Monteverde on his film, this year’s Little Boy, expressed his heartfelt condolences on Twitter.
A auto found near the scene is undergoing forensic testing, reported the Advocate, because authorities believe it may have been used in the kidnapping. It’s known that there is cartel activity in the area.

Landry was named Miss US in 1996 and was named the Doritos girl as a result of her commercial, which aired during the Superbowl in 1998.
The investigation is still in full force according to local police.
