Boil-water advisory in effect for Boblo Island
The advisory will remain in effect until further notice.
This is the second boil advisory for the East Bank in three months. But a small section of Reserve was kept on notice until the samples were returned.
S&WB Executive Director Cedric Grant said late Wednesday night that two pumps at the Carrollton water purification plant lost power and pressure dropped below 15 pounds per square inch at 14 of the system’s 18 pumping stations.
The low pressure triggers the need for state testing.
Due to a water main break, the Ross County Water Company has announced a precautionary boil advisory for parts of Ross County Thursday morning.
West Bank customers are unaffected by this advisory.
We thank residents for their patience and apologize for the inconvenience that this has caused. Boiled water should also be used to rinse dishes after washing. We agree with the recommendations of our regulatory partner, the Department of Health and Hospitals, that it is prudent to issue these advisories out of an abundance of caution.
The Sewerage & Water board recommends that residents boil water for at least one minute before use.
