Matt Damon On Red Carpet For Martian Premiere

The stars of “The Martian” set the style bar to intergalactic on Thursday at the London premiere of Ridley Scott’s sci-fi drama.

Matt Damon has featured front and center in the footage shown so far for Ridley Scott’s “The Martian”, but a newly released clip puts supporting actors Jeff Daniels, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Kristen Wiig front and center.

The film, based on the best-selling 2011 novel by Andy Weir, stars Damon as Mark Watney, a NASA astronaut with a sharp sense of humor despite being accidentally stranded on Mars by his crew when they assume he was killed during a violent dust storm.

Against all the odds, he makes contact, and the world unites behind efforts to bring “the Martian” home.

While the premise is science-fiction, much of the NASA equipment and technology featured in the film is scientifically accurate.

Earlier this week the British film-maker confirmed he plans to eventually link up his two films Alien and Prometheus. “I suppose Relating to something that connection with the majority of an individual here; and that’s the true love for technology and place, a theme which includes always delighted me, like a individuals would surely have found in my more quickly films”.

He confirmed that the answers to the origin of the xenomorph extraterrestrials will be explained.
