The A-Team series reboot in the works

Deadline reports that 20th Century Fox has plans to update the A-Team for the small screen.

The A-Team doesn’t now have a network home, but 20th Century Fox is expected to shop it around.

More importantly, the show is being produced by Chris Morgan, one of the lead creative forces behind the Fast & Furious franchise, who has retooled the series slightly as far as the backstories. Framed for a crime they didn’t commit, the group attempts to clear their names by uncovering the black-ops conspiracy that set them up. Pictured is the cast of the original 1980s TV series.

Seeing as this new team will consist of male and female members, it’s hard to say whether we’ll be getting different versions of the classic foursome or totally new creations in a series which follows the same formula.

The new take hails from Morgan, with Sleepy Hollow executive producer Albert Kim set to pen the script and original The A-Team creator Stephen J. It’s described as a fun episodic mission-of-the-week show that mixes big action-adventure sequences with compelling characters, inventive cons and lots of humor.

The A-Team was remade as a movie in 2010 with Liam Neeson and Bradley Cooper. The film grossed about $77 million at the domestic box office.
