WU to host second presidential debate in 2016

Wright State University’s award for hosting the first presidential debate will not be cheap. The first will take place on Monday, September 26 on the campus of Wright State University near Dayton.

More details about the event will be posted throughout the presidential campaign on Wright State’s debate website. “This is a huge win for all of us”.

Presidential candidates will try their luck in Las Vegas next year as Sin City hosts the last of three debates ahead of the November election.

However, Wright State has been in the national political spotlight previously.

But if previous debates are any indication, the upfront cost from the host site may be overshadowed by the amount of return from media exposure.

Wright State also is where House Speaker Cliff Rosenberger, R-Clarksville, got his degree in 2012. “We look forward to working with these fine universities and their students and communities to bring these important civic events to the nation”.

The Nutter Center has a history of playing a significant role in presidential politics. The GOP held its first primary debate this year in Cleveland and will have its national convention there next July.

Eight days later, the vice presidential candidates will square off in their lone head-to-head debate of the election cycle, on October 4 at Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia.

The CPD announced other presidential debate sites in St. Louis, and Las Vegas.

All four debates are being held in what are likely to be key swing states in next year’s presidential election – Ohio, Virginia, Missouri, and Nevada.
