Super Bowl Odds: Tony Romo injury doesn’t sink Cowboys
Given their status as the AFC South bully, the Colts are still the favorites, but need to get back on track quickly to avoid any more upsets. Since the 12-team playoff format began in 1990, at least four teams have qualified for the playoffs in every season that were not in the postseason the year before.
“I feel they gained at present”, Williams talked about, “if I am not mistaken”. Both of these teams are evenly matched, but I have to roll with the Vikings at home. The Raiders put up 37 points in their win over the Ravens. Johnny Football showed some signs that he might be a decent NFL quarterback. Unfortunately, their play-making ability won’t matter against the best player in the world, who doesn’t make mistakes. Which means basically nothing two weeks into the season. The Colts looked terrible against Buffalo and the Jets. The defense has been incredible thus far, notching 10 takeaways, just 3 fewer than all of 2014. Washington, on the other hand, defeated the Rams last week, who defeated the Seahawks in week one. Are the Bengals good enough to win and reach 3-0?
Losing Tony Romo and Dez Bryant in the first two games of the season has the Cowboys on their heels. But the Cowboys now are without injured quarterback Tony Romo, which changes the equation completely within the division. Or will newly-acquired Matt Cassel get the nod.
Two games down. Fourteen more to go.
New York Giants: After a second straight fourth-quarter meltdown, this time to the Falcons, the Giants’ locker room preached “finishing” after their 0-2 start. Falcons go into Big D and come out with a win. So each of these golf equipment are wanting up on the Redskins, who’re 1-1 after going 7-25 the previous two seasons. To come from behind against Indiana, you’ve got to be able to score. Doesn’t matter. Brees is on the downside of his career, and his team around him isn’t good. I expect Luck and the Colts to bounce back in week 3 and get their first win of the season. The Ravens and Eagles each won 10 games a year ago but history is not on their side in this case.
Neither team has gotten off to the kind of start they’d hoped for this year, especially when you consider they could/should be undefeated coming into this game.
Redskins at Giants: Washington 20-19. It’s too bad I don’t have as much faith in Joe Flacco as the Ravens. But they are giving up 13.5 points this week at home vs Jacksonville.
Carolina Panthers over New Orleans Saints: Panthers running attack and defense are ferocious and the Saints look pathetic. Very little excitement surrounds this game. Winston is sure to face plenty of pressure this week on the road facing J.J. Watt and company in Houston. Unlike you, I like what I’ve seen from the Giants, and that improvement carries forward another week.
QB Philip Rivers is sharp early in the season. On the road in Minnesotta, they’ll have a tough time. The best decision they made in Week 2 was taking the restraints off of Adrian Peterson, who touched the ball 31 times for 192 yards.
Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning throws against the Baltimore Ravens during the second half of an NFL football game Sunday, September 13, 2015, in Denver.
Pittsburgh Steelers @ St. Louis Rams- It’d be extremely hard to pick against the Steelers right now. Despite having probably the best wide receiver in the league in Odell Beckham Jr, the Giants look as discombobulated as they have been in the past three seasons.
San Francisco 49ers @ Arizona Cardinals: The Cardinals destroyed the Bears last week, and their defense should shut down whatever the 49ers try to do on offense. And they can not afford to fall any further behind the Bengals.
Miami Dolphins over Buffalo Bills: A toss up here but I’ll take Miami at home. But New England isn’t capable of playing down enough to lose. They’ll look to bounce back against another AFC East opponent in the Dolphins. Can the duo play well again this week and beat the Chargers at home? Rex Ryan’s defense will be all Tannehill Sunday. The Lions are 0-2 this season and in desperate need of a win.
Bears at Seahawks: Seattle 38-7. Oh yeah, and Jimmy Clausen is leading the Bears. Next up is a tough Jets defense that gave quarterback Andrew Luck and the Colts fits.
Broncos (-3) at Lions: Every year there’s a team that I think is good, and then just isn’t. I expected for Stafford to come out and finally live up to his potential.
“It’s a long season”, says San Diego head coach MIKE MC COY, whose team fell to 1-1 with a loss at Cincinnati last week. QB Sam Bradford has looked equally erratic, and the Eagles have produced only two quarters of competent play over their first 8 played. It’s not going to get any easier as they take a trip to Lambeau to face a Packers team riding high after a win over Seattle. We’ve got great character on our football team.
