Amazon Prime Video gets exclusive streaming rights for USA’s Mr. Robot
Prime Video will feature all ten episodes of the first season of Mr. Robot, which originally aired on the U.S. network in the US.
Starring Rami Malek and Christian Slater, the series focuses on a computer programmer and vigilante hacker who is hired by an underground group to destroy the firm he is paid to protect.
All 10 episodes of Mr Robot season one will be available for unlimited streaming from Friday October 16, in an exclusive premiere for Amazon Prime users. Rotten Tomatoes gives the show an average rating of 98%. Subscribers to Amazon Prime in the United States, UK, Germany, Austria and Japan will be able to catch up on the show before it presumably returns next summer.
Under the pact, Amazon Prime will become the exclusive subscription streaming home for Mr. Robot beginning this spring.
“Mr. Robot is a tremendous success and Amazon Prime has provided a great opportunity to make the show even more accessible to audiences”, said NBCUniversal Television and New Media Distribution president Frances Manfredi.
One of the most popular and well-reviewed shows of the past year is coming to Amazon, exclusively. It was created by Sam Esmail who executive produces with Steve Golin and Chad Hamilton. The show also stars Portia Doubleday (“Her“), Carly Chaikin (“Suburgatory“), Michel Gill (“House of Cards”) and Martin Wallström (“Simple Simon“).
