Hulu Inks ‘Goldbergs’ Exclusive Subscription VOD Pact
Hulu has acquired exclusive streaming rights to Sony Pictures Television’s The Goldbergs, which now airs on ABC on Wednesday nights.
Hulu already had been carrying the five most recent Goldbergs episodes from the current season on its free, ad-supported platform as part of an agreement with ABC. But now, paid subscribers will also be able to binge to their delight through the full gamut of episodes that comprise the entire first two seasons.
Airing tonight on ABC, THE GOLDBERGS returns for season three and the word is that big changes are coming. All past episodes of the show, which just debuted its third season, are available on Hulu starting Thursday. The series, about 11-year- old Adam who, armed with a video camera, captures the antics of his nutty, but loving, family, also has been well received by critics, especially Wendi McLendon-Covey’s breakout performance as the boy’s mom.
The Goldbergs focuses on a family in the 1980’s.
Created by ADAM GOLDGERG (and based on his real-life family and experiences), the cast features TROY GENTILE, HAYLEY ORRANTIA, JEFF GARLIN and GEORGE SEGAL. In this case, we get to see the 80s through Adam’s eyes, the adult version of whom narrates the episodes via the voice talent of Patton Oswalt.
